Apple Releases iPhone Update Preparing The iPhone 12 For A Post-COVID19 Travel World
Sep 4, 2020When the Australian Federal Government initially launched their COVID19 contact tracing application they touted it to be a fantastic success which would aid Australia’s border reopening and the ability for a business to get back to normal. What the application ended up being as one colossal failure, with the technology being out of date, battery draining and not quite proven to even function correctly. In fact, under 100 cases of COVID19 have been detected as a result of the application. In typical Apple form though, Tim Cook has subtly and near secretly released a solution to that and many other… Read more »

Sep 4, 2020Virgin Australia has had a rough year with the introduction of the COVID19 pandemic having battered Australia’s second airline immensely. However post-administration and with new private equity owners who aren’t afraid to spend a buck on the company, Virgin looks to be on its road to becoming a stronger competitor than they were in the past. Part of Virgin’s new grand scheme for their return to travel was to initially fly an all-Boeing 737 fleet and only domestically for at least a year. But CEO, Paul Scurrah, has recently revealed that Virgin does intend to move back to their international… Read more »

Rapid COVID Tests Part Of Roadmap To Restart Travel
Sep 4, 2020QANTAS CEO, Alan Joyce, has stated that Rapid COVID testing should form a core part of the roadmap to restart both domestic and international travel. The statement, made at CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, falls in line with what many other countries who are allowing broad international travel now to implement in their own airports. Japan, for example, requires every entrant into the country to complete a rapid COVID19 test and gets held at the airport until results come back. Joyce also stated that the development could solve the hotel quarantine issue, an issue which is now the subject of… Read more »

Aug 3, 2020The International Air Transport Association has claimed they are aiming for a full air travel recovery come 2024. The 2024 date, while a year later than originally estimated, is ambitious but many airlines have been in consultation with the Transport Association to make their practices safe for a return to air travel. Lounges Still A No Go
Aug 3, 2020QANTAS has announced that they are going to defer the reopening of domestic lounges further. The lounges have been closed now since the Australian Federal Government enforced country wide COVID19 restrictions which effectively shuttered domestic travel at the time. Previously, QANTAS had claimed that their lounges across Queensland would begin opening from the start of July which was later pushed back to August. QANTAS now claims that the earliest these lounges will open is from the start of September, however even that opening time frame has a question over it. The QANTAS club however has previously reopened lounges in some… Read more »

The Best Hotel In Sydney Doesn’t Even Have A View
Aug 3, 2020Hotels in the centre of Sydney today tends to be a sore point among many in the modern day. The overall quality of hotels within the centre lacks, severely. And without spending well over $1,000 per night on accommodation like the Park Hyatt (a hotel which is gorgeous and overlooks both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House) the mid-range 5-star hotel options are extremely limited. However, an independent hotel seems to offer a solution to Sydney’s mediocre offering. A little-known hotel named The Primus which sits towards the south of Pitt Street and near parallel with Cockle Wharf takes… Read more »

A Legend’s Last
Aug 3, 2020Last week QANTAS bid farewell to the last remaining Boeing 747 on their fleet. The flight was met with fanfare as many turned out to view the final flight of a plane which most today grew up with. QANTAS made the decision to retire the Boeing 747 fleet entirely in May after the Coronavirus pandemic decimated international flightpaths worldwide. The retirement was brought forward multiple years as a month later QANTAS made a second decision to ground the vast majority of their entire fleet in airline storage Australia and worldwide. The vast majority of the 747’s are to be retired… Read more »
