QANTAS has announced that they are going to defer the reopening of domestic lounges further. The lounges have been closed now since the Australian Federal Government enforced country wide COVID19 restrictions which effectively shuttered domestic travel at the time.

Previously, QANTAS had claimed that their lounges across Queensland would begin opening from the start of July which was later pushed back to August. QANTAS now claims that the earliest these lounges will open is from the start of September, however even that opening time frame has a question over it.

The QANTAS club however has previously reopened lounges in some locations. The QANTAS club in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Broome, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Emerald, Gladstone, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Launceston, Mackay, Tamworth and Townsville remain open after QANTAS opened the clubs during June.

QANTAS’ exclusive offering, The Chairman’s Lounge, has also had its re-opening bumped to early September amid the COVID19 pandemic. Those lounges, located in all capital major cities of Australia, have been known for its exclusive offerings and invite-only attendance.

Business class lounges across all major cities but Victoria (thanks to the current outbreak gripping the state) have also been reopened and operate as usual.
